You may be paid an initial payment after the insurance company determines coverage for your claim. However, many times the same claim is determined to be under deductible or underpaid. Our next action is to assist in the compulsory appraisal.
Appraisal is a documented evaluation of the replacement value of property by a qualified professional. It is performed when both parties, the insured and the insurer, disagree on the amount of the loss, the actual cash value or the cost of repair or replacement.
Once the appraisal clause or provision is invoked, the insured's appraiser and the insurer's appraiser estimate the damages and attempt to reach an agreement on the amount of the loss.
